Executive Team

Glenn Bolger, Chief Executive Officer
Reporting to the Board of Directors, Glenn is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and direction of NLCU, leading a high-performance senior management team to turn strategy into action to achieve short- and long-term business goals. Prior to becoming CEO in January 2022, Glenn spent 17 years as NLCU's Chief Operating Officer, responsible for branch operations, human resources, marketing, member solutions centre, wealth management, insurance, and facilities. For nine years, he served on the Board of Directors of League Data, a data company located in Halifax, N.S. that provides information systems solutions to credit unions in Atlantic Canada. Glenn has previously served on the Board of Directors of the Autism Society of Newfoundland and Labrador and Junior Achievement of Newfoundland and Labrador, and has supported fundraisers for Big Brothers Big Sisters, Heart and Stroke Foundation, and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. A longtime member of the NLCU Charitable Foundation's Board of Directors, Glenn now serves as its President and Board Chairperson. He has a Bachelor of Commerce (Co-op) Degree from Memorial University with a concentration in Labour Relations and Human Resources Management and is a Fellow of the Credit Union Institute of Canada.

Jim Mayo, Chief Financial Officer
Jim Mayo assumed the role of CFO in 2017 and is responsible for NLCU’s finance, treasury, budgeting, risk management, audit, tax, and accounting functions. Prior to his position as CFO, Jim served 15 years as NLCU’s Director, Accounting and Corporate Governance. Jim earned his Bachelor of Commerce at Memorial University and is a Certified Professional Account (CPA). He has been a volunteer of the NLCU Charitable Foundation since its inception in 2002.

Shane Flight, Chief Information Officer
In the role of CIO, Shane Flight leads the strategic direction of NLCU’s information systems. His responsibilities include building a comprehensive information security program, leading the credit union’s digital transformation effort, and governing its data and information strategy to drive business decisions and growth. His expertise has been relied upon for many technology-based initiatives in Atlantic Canada’s credit union system, placing NLCU at the forefront of several pilot projects for innovative services. Presently, he is a member of the CCUA National ATM User Group, a member of the Credit Union Technology Advisory Group, and a Board member of League Data Ltd. Shane has been a dedicated volunteer of the NLCU Charitable Foundation since 2002, and has volunteered with, or provided expertise to, a number of other charities in the province.
